Panoramic Prayers

Panoramic Prayers: A Burial of Old Ideas was a full sensory experience written by Time Brickey, and devised and co-directed by Tanji Harper, Frank Maugeri, Rebecca Husk, and 20 Blue Rhythm Collective members — young male and female black artists from Austin and Englewood who produce original music, choreography, and stories.

The event was authored alongside Cabinet of Curiosity’s School of Celebration — students from multiple artistic backgrounds and universities from across the United States. This year, those students include Xiaoyu Wang, Oran Lazar, Samantha Marie Adams, Angela Goleta, Griffin DiStasi, Ivy Bergen Waegel, Amy Lang, Mckensey Kendall, Evan Silver, Alfie Smith, representing the School of the Art Institute, University of Chicago, Northwestern, and others.

Devices and Objects are engineered by Cabinet Master Engineer, Milam Smith. Spanish translator, Laszlo Jentes led the event translation. The site is designed by Rea Brown and Sydney Lynne Thomas. The event included unusual mechanical objects, large scale paintings, surprising mechanical devices, along with a collection of shrines made by community members.
